Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR) There are quite a few Pilot Examiners for fixed wing, so find one and your cost will be about $300 or so. But, if they are near your home you can save on travel. For airplane examiners see http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/sport_pilot/media/airplane_examiner.pdf PPC and Weight-Shift examiners are not nearly as plentiful. Travel could be a problem. Work with your local friends to get a group together. Perhaps you could save by bringing in an examiner. There will be more examiners as time goes on. Right now there are only 11 PPC and 13 WSC.
